Micro Register only requires a minimal computer system running Windows XP or higher operating system. A typical Windows 10 or 11 computer would be a 64 bit processor @ 1 GHZ or faster. 4 GB of ram and 32 GB of disk space. A 22” monitor is usually a large enough display.
Most any of the Epson TM series receipt printers are compatible using a USB interface.The Epson TM-T20III USB printer is a good choice and is recommended. Other brands of printers may work but we cannot guarantee that the fonts will be correct on the printed receipt. You will need to install the proper printer driver and then select this printer in the company setup of Micro Register.
The MS Cash drawer Model #J-423-USB-M-B is required when using a direct USB interface connection. You will need to install a cash drawer driver available from MS Cash Drawer Company. The USB interface cash drawer is recommended but if you are using a 40 column receipt printer you could use a compatible cash drawer (for that printer) that plugs directly into the receipt printer with a RJ connector. When using a receipt printer and cash drawer combination, in the properties of the receipt printer driver, you will need to change the settings to open cash drawer #1 when the receipt is printed.

There is a backup and restore routine available. Run Micro Register Utilities & Backup from your desktop. You can select a folder or external drive of your choice to backup to. An external USB flash drive is highly recommended for your backups.
Note: If you get and error when running the Utilities & Backup program then right click on the desktop shortcut. Select properties, the compatibility tab and choose Windows XP Service Pack 3.
You need to enter the proper settings with-in the company setup of Micro Register.You will first need to create an App Password in your Google or Yahoo account and use this password in the email settings of Micro Register. This is done in the account security area of your Google or Yahoo account.Here are the settings using a Yahoo Email accountOutgoing Server Name (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.comOutgoing Server Port (SMTP): 465User Name: your Yahoo email address@yahoo.comEmail Password: Must be generated online from your Yahoo.com account.To generate password from Yahoo:1. Sign in to your Yahoo account.2. Mouse over the email account name (upper right) and from the drop down click on Account Info.3. Click Account security and scroll down to Other ways to sign in, select Generate app password and Get Started.4. For the App Name enter Micro Register and click Generate Password. The password generated is the password to enter in the email setup of Micro Register.
The sales transaction screen is set in the Bar Code mode. This allows you to scan a bar code, default to a quantity of one and drop down for the next item. To turn this off at the upper right of the sales transaction screen, uncheck Bar Code Mode
Install the Micro Register software on all computers in the network. Designate one computer as the server and all other computers as work stations. On the work stations edit the properties on Micro Register desktop icon to run the Micro Register.exe file on the server i.e. the short cut target would be...“\\your servers name\program files (x86)\micro methods\micro register\micro register.exe”The server computers directory c:\program files (x86)\micro methods\ folder must have network sharing allowed. The data on the server will be accessed by and shared by all users in the network.
